Listed country manor in Gelderland

A long driveway winds through the country estate to the manor house, built in 1927 and now an official listed building. Many features of the manor, including the ceiling frescos and fireplaces, have come from old patrician houses in Amsterdam. The new additions include an elegant yet modern kitchen with pantry and storage from Vonder’s Crosby collection in a warm oak finish. The hallway has been fitted with classic cloakrooms, seating and panelling. Functional comfort for the residents has been carefully balanced with retention of the original style. In the dining area huge cupboards have been created inspired by the cupboards in the owner’s former canal-side home. The drinks cabinet in the drawing room, has a unique design, featuring sea-chest doors and bronze handles. In the library, a custom-designed wall unit to display books and art has been added, made from walnut, wit black oak shelving in a nod to 1950s’ modernism.
