After a lengthy period of living in Curacao and then sailing around the world, this family of six made their home in a townhouse – with basement – dating from 1877. Despite its city-centre location, serenity and spaciousness reign supreme in this historic property. Studio Océan created a sophisticated interior design for this listed building. Vonder crafted several unique, individual and timeless pieces of furniture with excellent attention to quality and details, such as the kitchen including an island and the solid oak dining table. At the rear of the property, the basement and the piano nobile have been opened up to create a single high-ceilinged space which contrasts with the intimacy of the adjacent living room. Slender pivot doors made from oak accentuate the sense of spaciousness in this home. the custom-made wardrobes have bronze details. The oak wall unit adds extra warmth in the offbeat yet luxurious bathroom.
